Greetings to all of you of the Coastal Christian family. I am sad for a number of reasons that we’ve not been able worship and study God’s word together this week. I hope that you’ve received the message from the prayer chain encouraging everyone to pray for those who will be seriously affected by this storm. Due to the conditions worsening and the cancellation of our 3 services tomorrow I would invite you to follow this link to our sermon archives. Please be safe. We love you and hope to see you all soon.
See You There,

Matt Stokes &
The CCOC Staff
Have you heard about the massive hurricane that is headed our way on Sunday? If not, you can find some really cool information about it here and you can actually track it live on the Weather Channel’s website by clicking the image below. Well anyway, it is supposed to be pretty big. So big in fact, that the NJ State Office of Emergency Management is telling people to “top off your gas tanks, stock up on canned goods, batteries, other necessities and tune in for weather updates.” Well then, some may ponder, “What if Irene veers away and it ends up sunny and nice? It’s happened before. Surely then we will still have the CCOC Beach Baptism…right?” Nope. We also know that the whether it rains or shines the city would not approve of us being in the water with the strong undercurrents and rough seas, so we are going to respect them, make them happy, and keep everyone safe too. Sweet.
Having love and compassion for our Fellowship at Coastal Christian Ocean City, we are going to postpone the CCOC Beach Baptism until the following Sunday (9/4/11). We hope that you will all still try to make it out and support those being baptized. If you’ve ever been to one of our Baptisms in the past you know that it is a celebration that the whole Fellowship takes part in. As people go under and are baptized the shouting and clapping can be heard on the beach ensuring the baptized that they are being welcomed with wide open arms into a family of believers. What an awesome thing it is to take the plunge and proclaim outwardly that we are saved by grace and we are not ashamed to show it!
Hope to see you there! Sunday 9/4/11 at 4pm on 59th Street Beach
